How to use Whiteboard
Use the Excalidraw-powered Whiteboard for freehand sketches, visual notes, and planning on a full-window canvas.
- Start a blank canvas or choose a project-planner or flowchart template.
- Draw, add text, and name the project. Wait for the saved indicator before closing.
- Download an editable .excalidraw file or export PNG/SVG. Use Back up all for the whole project library.
Worked example
Start a project planner, add notes to its columns, and export a PNG for a meeting while retaining the editable project for the next session.
Limits and things to check
Projects are saved in this browser, not an account. Clearing site data can remove them. Imports are limited to 20 MB; backups support up to 100 projects within that limit. Collaboration and cloud sync are not included.
Can I move drawings to another device?
Yes. Download a project or workspace backup and import it in the other browser. Storage is separate for each device and domain, including a future drawing subdomain.
Clearing site data or using a private window can remove saved projects. Download important work or use Back up all to move your library to another browser or our future drawing microsite. Imports always create new copies. Supported files: .excalidraw, .drawio, .xml, and workspace backups, up to 20 MB per import.
