Make the complex clear.
Flowcharts, systems, and the connections between them.
Powered by the embedded diagrams.net editor. Opening a diagram connects to diagrams.net and makes its content available to that editor in your browser. Cloud storage and server-based features are disabled. Internet is needed to load the editor.

How to use Diagram Editor
Create connected flowcharts and architecture diagrams with the official diagrams.net editor embedded in a full-window workspace.
- Choose a blank diagram or starter template and allow the external editor to load.
- Connect shapes, add labels, and name the locally saved project.
- Download editable .drawio XML or export PNG/SVG. Keep a backup for work you need to preserve.
Worked example
Start with a simple flowchart, label its steps for a review process, and download a .drawio file so the connections remain editable.
Limits and things to check
Internet is needed to load diagrams.net. The provider’s JavaScript receives the diagram inside its frame; cloud integrations are disabled. Local browser storage is not a permanent backup and does not automatically sync.
Can I import an Excalidraw file into this editor?
The formats are different. The workspace imports .drawio and .xml files into Diagrams, and .excalidraw files into Whiteboard. It does not convert between the editors.
Clearing site data or using a private window can remove saved projects. Download important work or use Back up all to move your library to another browser or our future drawing microsite. Imports always create new copies. Supported files: .excalidraw, .drawio, .xml, and workspace backups, up to 20 MB per import.
