How to use JSON Tools
Format or minify JSON, decode escaped JSON strings, and convert between JSON, YAML, and CSV within one workspace.
- Select the operation that matches your input format.
- Paste the input and run the operation; correct any reported syntax errors.
- Review the output before copying or downloading it.
Worked example
The compact object {"name":"Ada","active":true} can be expanded for readability without changing its values. An escaped JSON string must be decoded before treating its contents as an object.
Limits and things to check
Strict JSON uses double-quoted keys and strings and does not allow comments or trailing commas. CSV is tabular and cannot represent arbitrary nested JSON without a mapping. Very large numeric values can lose precision when parsed as JavaScript numbers.
Does formatting prove that my data matches an API schema?
No. Syntax validation checks whether the text can be parsed. It does not verify required fields, business rules, or compatibility with a particular API.
Processing and privacy
Your browser performs the operation locally. Inputs and results are not sent to OneClickWorks.
Common questions
Does this tool upload my input?
No. Processing happens in this browser tab and your input is not sent to OneClickWorks.
What happens when I leave the page?
In-memory input and generated download links are released when the page is reset, replaced, or closed. OneClickWorks does not persist tool content.
